Primarily self-taught and born to be an artist Mary has been “illustrating” since she was a toddler. From appending the illustrations in the books of the family's library to adding her decorative touch with crayon to the walls and furnishings of their home it was apparent to the family that Mary had the gift of creativity.

Her aunt Nancy, a talented artist herself, felt a gift of an adult oil painting kit for Christmas for Mary might be appropriate when she was just six years old. However the idea of oil paints in the hands of a six year old was a hair-raising thought for Mary's mother. Reluctantly mom allowed Mary to create her first oil painting and proudly displayed it in the kitchen then promptly discarded the oil paints. But there were always plenty of art supplies within her reach and lots of encouragement from friends and family. One grandmother kept infusing a steady supply of markers (Flair pens in all the colors) and paper while the other taught her creative activities like cooking, sewing, and needlework.

Early in her youth her step-father who was very creative in all types of media, as well as a high school art teacher, came into her life and continued to influence her creative endeavors. She recalls that he always brought the students' projects home to be graded and was inspired to try and do the projects as well. There seemed to be no end to the variety of arts and crafts he brought home from fashion illustration, sculpture, collages, and paintings of a variety of media.

Wide-eyed with wonder and discovery from the influences of her youth she continues a life-long journey of creativity to the present. Not satisfied with sticking to just one style or medium she paints in a variety of styles with and is always looking for new ways to express her creativity and share it with the world.

Her experience of a lifetime in art, an easygoing spirit and over twenty years of licensing ensures a great fit for manufacturers and licensing opportunities.
